MARK BRAND
“Mark Brand” - Teaser - 2021
Mark Brand is a hybrid body of work associating an artistic production with a promotion exploiting the language of branding, then used as artistic material. The heart of the installation is a video bringing together the artworks and a series of messages, logos and derived objects used in a narrative process that makes the brand oscillate between artistic discourse and a commercial product.
Mark Brand is the name of a brand. It is also the character who embodies it, whose effigy is an ultra-realistic silicone mask representing an elderly male person.
Mark Brand, with his plural and ambivalent identity, asks himself abstract questions about his evolution within a media and a brand, about his life as a role model and his awareness as an influencer, revealing a particular emotional relationship to consumer products and their media representations.
