Harold Lechien (1995) est un artiste belge qui vit et travaille à Bruxelles.
À travers des installations modulaires mêlant sculpture, vidéo, image et objets manufacturés, son travail interroge les formes contemporaines de mise en scène et les récits visuels qui façonnent notre perception du réel. En prélevant, transformant et recomposant les signes issus de l’industrie, il explore le fétichisme marchand et les mécanismes par lesquels les produits, les discours publicitaires et les technologies de communication capturent nos émotions et les convertissent en marchandises.
Ses œuvres articulent une écriture plastique et narrative qui emprunte autant aux codes du design et de la scénographie commerciale qu’à ceux du cinéma ou de la publicité. En travaillant la fiction comme un outil d’analyse critique, il met en scène des environnements où les signes, les objets et les corps rejouent les logiques de consommation et de spectacularisation.
Depuis 2018, son travail a été présenté dans plusieurs institutions et expositions en Belgique et à l’étranger, notamment à l’ISELP (Bruxelles), au Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (Paris), à la DMW Gallery (Anvers) et au festival TRANSMEDIALE (Berlin).

Harold Lechien (b. 1995)
is a Belgian artist living and working in Brussels.
Through modular installations combining sculpture, video, image, and mass-produced objects, his work explores contemporary forms of staging and the visual narratives that shape our perception of reality. By collecting, transforming, and recomposing industrial signs, he examines the logic of commodity fetishism and the mechanisms through which products, advertising discourse, and communication technologies capture human emotions and convert them into exchangeable goods.
His practice develops a plastic and narrative language that draws from the codes of design, commercial scenography, cinema, and advertising. By using fiction as a critical tool, he constructs environments in which signs, objects, and bodies replay the dynamics of consumption and spectacularization.
Since 2018, his work has been exhibited in several institutions and events in Belgium and abroad, including ISELP (Brussels), the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (Paris), DMW Gallery (Antwerp), and the TRANSMEDIALE festival (Berlin).
He is currently pursuing a two-year residency at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains (Tourcoing, FR), running until 2025.
