presents a series of paintings constructed from forgotten family archives and images saved on a personal cloud. Photographs and fragments of memories have been assembled and overlaid, printed on canvas, and reworked with successive layers of oil paint. These works are rooted in a condition known as brainrot: a word referring to both a state of mental and visual saturation caused by intensive internet use, as well as certain forms of content (especially those generated by artificial intelligence). In this system of perpetual scrolling, where intimate memory is outsourced to digital media, images lose their chronology, their hierarchy, their meaning : all becomes content.The canvas acts then as a domestic wormhole: a material surface on which these elements have been frozen at the moment of collision, sedimented by the various steps of the process. In these compositions, some fragments surface and persist while others fade away ; they are all kept in suspension, in a flattened and absolute present. From these hallucinatory constellations, unease emerges, an uncanny disturbance that seeks to destabilize the ordinary temporality of reality: decay, lurking in the shadows. Photographies et fragments de souvenirs ont été assemblés et superposés par montage numérique, imprimés sur toile, puis retravaillés par couches successives de peinture à l’huile. Ce travail émerge d’une condition qu’on appelle brainrot : un terme désignant à la fois une saturation mentale et visuelle due à une utilisation intensive d’internet, ainsi que certaines formes de contenus (notamment celles générées par intelligence artificielle). Dans ce régime de défilement perpétuel, où la mémoire intime est extériorisée vers le numérique, les images perdent leur chronologie, leur hiérarchie, leur sens : tout devient contenu. À travers une série d'actes qui combinent animations 3D, films et banques d’images commerciales, le spectateur s’immerge dans une réflexion révélant les tensions et les contradictions inhérentes à l’authenticité et à la mise en scène de soi, aux rituels de skincare et à leur place dans notre quotidien hyperconnecté. Un aller-retour constant s’opère entre la réalité et la fiction, entre la vulnérabilité des corps physiques et les possibilités infinies des technologies. À l’heure où l’image numérique se matérialise comme une seconde peau, les relations tangibles entre nos corps et les images s’adaptent pour laisser place à des jeux de représentations et d’influences qui transcendent nos affects. L'expérience visuelle de ce film-installation est accompagnée par des sculptures représentant des chaises de massage, offrant aux visiteurs la possibilité de s’immerger dans les images projetées sur les deux écrans. Glass Skin démantèle les stratégies d’adresse médiatique pour confronter nos corps avec l’image numérique en renversant nos attentes : le corps devient un produit consommable alors que les produits se transforment en corps agissants. EN/Glass Skin is a video installation that explores the porous relationship between our skin and screens. Through a series of acts combining 3D animations, films, and commercial image banks, the viewer is immersed in a reflection that reveals the tensions and contradictions inherent in authenticity and self-staging, skincare rituals, and their place in our hyperconnected daily lives. A constant back-and-forth occurs between reality and fiction, between the vulnerability of physical bodies and the infinite possibilities of technology. At a time when the digital image materializes as a second skin, the tangible relationships between our bodies and images adapt to give way to plays of representation and influence that transcend our emotions. The visual experience of this film-installation is accompanied by sculptures representing massage chairs, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the images projected on the two screens. Alongside the considerable quantity of products delivered every day, a large part of their catalog simply remains ignored or abandoned. Unsold items are sometimes destroyed, and the return rate on sales nears 20%. E-commerce companies call upon others, specialized in inventory clearance, to repackage and resell these articles in more or less random batches. For A BOX IS A BOX IS A BOX, the artists purchased some of these randomized lots and filmed their unboxing in the exhibition space. As we attempt to breach the circulation of goods, an additional link infiltrates its abstract and crushing logic ; and by distorting amateur unboxing videos shared on the internet, experience takes over : the tactile, material, and sensory experience of opening, discovering and accumulating stuff - because that’s what it is, mostly : just stuff. As we fluctuate between euphoria and nihilism, we are brought to feel the absurd emotion of global production and consumption.
